MANITOWOC, Wis. – Jagemann™ Stamping Company is proud to share its recent receipt of the Top Tech Award by Lakeshore Technical College.  Top Tech awards recognize influencers in career and technical education in Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties.

JtrostJagemann™ Stamping was selected for the award based on the company’s longtime support of the Manitowoc County Youth Apprenticeship program.  Currently, approximately 10% of the company’s full time employees are former Youth Apprentices.  Human Resources Manager, Jim Trost, and Larry Lang, Human Resources Generalist accepted the award on behalf of Jagemann™ Stamping.

Jagemann™ Stamping employs and mentors 8 local students currently, as part of the 2015/2016 Manitowoc County Youth Apprenticeship program.  Jagemann™ has recently expanded its participation in the program by offering career opportunities in the areas of accounting and sales and marketing.

According to Trost, “Jagemann™ Stamping Company has proudly been involved in the Youth Apprentice program since its very beginnings in the mid 90’s.  Along with several other forward thinking employers in Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties, Jagemann™ Stamping Company partnered with area High Schools, Lakeshore Technical College and the State of Wisconsin to develop the program.  The goal was to create curriculum and a standard administration process, similar to that of an Adult Registered Apprenticeship, which would develop skills and provide work experience for High School students interested in the types of positions that the local manufacturers

needed to fill.  It was an opportunity for the student to “try on” a potential career by working approximately 15 hours per week during the school year, while also obtaining High School Credits, specialized education at LTC and a fair wage.  The program then certainly lent itself to the strong potential for full-time employment with the host employer following graduation.

Jagemann™ Stamping initially employed one or two Tool Room or Maintenance students each year, but over time has now expanded the program to the point that we currently employ eight students, including several in non-industrial positions, such as finance and marketing.  Over 10% of our current 260 full-time employees began their career at Jagemann™ as a youth apprentice.  We clearly view this program as one of the keys to our past and current success and look forward to continuing our support of the program as we position ourselves and our industry for continued growth.”
