The Toolroom utilizes the “can-do” attitude of highly skilled people and enhances
that, with an interface to our Design Engineering, Advanced Development and Pressroom
departments to continually develop work-skills or what it takes, to be Just
the Best

We offer a full range of machining applications that include CNC turning and machining,
EDM hole drilling and WEDM shaped machining. The CNC Technicians program the machines,
which enable each of the toolmakers to edit programs as needed during our tool trials
process or when implementing a design change to the tool or machine part being made. |

Our secondary and finishing operations are completed by means of several conventional
types of machining, ranging from milling, or lathe turning to lapping and heat-treating.
Handwork or bench-work is utilized for the fitting of assemblies and/or dies sets
as required, where toolmakers often work within tolerances of tenths of thousandths
of inches. |

All tooling orders are tracked via bar-coded routings to ensure fabrication consistency
as well as traceability for each operation. All performance and operations within
the Toolroom are measured against team-selected goals and objectives, which are
used as benchmarks for tomorrow’s improvements.
